In 2008, I started the blog Screenwriting from Iowa…and Other Unlikely Places. Later that year it won a Regional Emmy in Minneapolis for Advanced Media. After 3,000 posts I finally honed it down to the 250 pages book Screenwriting with Brass Knuckles. I was thankful that two screenwriters originally from Iowa, Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place), wrote the introduction to the book.
